Our practice runs a comprehensive reminder and recall system to support patients in staying up to date with important health checks and treatments. This includes reminders for:
- Routine reviews (e.g. diabetes care, annual health checks)
- Blood tests or imaging
- Vitamin B12 and Prolia injections
- Preventative health measures (e.g. cervical screening, bowel screening, immunisations)
How Our System Works
- Monthly checks: Our admin team reviews reminder lists each month and contacts patients for follow-up.
- Courtesy service: This reminder system is provided as a courtesy. While we take care to ensure accuracy, patients are strongly encouraged to track their own appointments and due dates.
- Limitations: Occasionally reminders may be misrecorded or not updated in time. We conduct regular staff training and system checks to minimise errors, but it is not 100% foolproof.
- Normal – No Action: Nothing requires follow-up. If you are still experiencing symptoms, you are encouraged to make an appointment with your GP.
- Abnormal – Non-Urgent Appointment: You will be asked to book the next available routine appointment.
- Abnormal – Urgent Appointment: You will be asked to book an appointment within 1–2 days.
National Screening Programs
The Goyder’s Line Medical Practice is linked with the National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR).
The NCSR issues reminders and kits for cervical, bowel cancer screening and have announced a National Lung Cancer Screening initiative which you can speak to your GP about.
If an abnormal result is detected, the NCSR forwards it to your nominated GP for review and follow-up.
You may receive both a national reminder and a practice reminder.
Opting Out
All patients are automatically enrolled in the reminder system.
If you do not wish to participate, please speak with reception or your GP.
