Immunisations & Injections
  • Routine Immunisations
    • We offer all standard vaccinations as recommended under the National Immunisation Program (NIP). These include childhood immunisations, adult boosters, and other age- or risk-related vaccines.
  • Travel Vaccinations
    • We can prescribe a limited selection of travel vaccines. These are typically ordered through a pharmacy, which you collect and bring back for our nursing staff to administer.
    • Please note: we are not an accredited travel vaccination centre, so our travel health services are limited.
  • Other Injections
    • We also administer prescribed injections for various medical treatments as part of ongoing patient care. If you require regular or specialist injections, please speak with your doctor to arrange an appropriate plan.
24/7 On-Call Hospital Services

Our doctors operate on a shared roster to ensure continuous, round-the-clock emergency care at the Jamestown and Orroroo hospitals, including obstetric and anaesthetic.

WorkCover Appointments

If you’ve suffered a workplace injury and require medical care, please advise our practitioners at the time of your consultation (whether that’s in the hospital or in our clinic) so we can help by completing the necessary paperwork to support your WorkCover claim.

We work closely with ReturnToWorkSA (RTWSA) to manage your recovery, providing ongoing care and regular check-ins as needed.

Once you have a valid claim number, our reception team will send your invoices directly to your RTWSA claims agent, so you won’t need to worry about the billing.

Before your claim is approved:
You’ll need to pay for your visits upfront, based on the WorkCover fee schedule. We’ll provide a receipt and tax invoice so you can claim reimbursement from RTWSA once your claim is accepted.

Script & Referral Renewals

Our Practitioners are able to do your prescription (script) and referral renewals. These are done through routine appointments, so we recommend booking ahead of time to avoid any delays.

Please note; that we may not be able to accommodate short-notice renewal requests. This helps us ensure that patients with urgent or immediate health needs can be seen as soon as possible.

To keep your care on track, try to plan ahead and book your renewal appointment before your script or referral runs out.

Our doctors work closely with local aged care facilities, including the aged care wings at Orroroo and Jamestown Hospitals, Belalie Lodge in Jamestown, and the Orroroo Community Home.

Our GPs visit the aged care facilities regularly.

Telehealth Consultations

We offer Telehealth (phone or video) consultations so you can see your doctor from the comfort of home. Telehealth bookings are available during normal clinic hours and follow the same process as in-person appointments, including triage where needed.

Medicare Rebates:
To get a Medicare rebate for your Telehealth visit, you must have seen one of our doctors in person at least once in the last 12 months.
If you haven’t had a face-to-face appointment in that time, you can still book Telehealth — but you’ll need to pay the full fee, as Medicare won’t cover any of the cost.

How to Connect:
On the day of your appointment, we’ll send you a link to join your Telehealth session. Just follow the steps in the link, and make sure to stay on the page — your doctor won’t be able to connect if you leave it.

Mental Health Care Plan

A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is a formal plan developed by a GP to help a patient access Medicare-subsidised mental health services. It’s designed to assess, manage, and support your mental well-being over time.

  • Eligibility: For patients with a diagnosed mental health condition or experiencing significant psychological distress.
  • Coverage: Up to 20 subsidised sessions per calendar year with psychologists, counsellors, or other allied health providers.
  • Process:
    1. GP assessment of your mental health and lifestyle
    2. Development of a personalised care plan
    3. Referral to suitable mental health professionals
    4. Review and follow-up to monitor progress (often required to access all visits)
Medical Examinations

Pre-Employment Medicals
Our doctors are qualified to conduct a wide range of pre-employment medicals. Most appointments involve:

  • 30–60 minutes with our Practice Nurse
  • 20 minutes with the GP

Tests may include audiometry, spirometry, urine drug screening, radiology, and blood testing.
Note: Urine drug screens are sent off for formal testing—results may take up to 3-7 days.

If this is your first medical with us, please provide all relevant paperwork so we can determine the appropriate appointment length.

Driving Medicals
We provide medicals for Light Vehicle, Heavy Vehicle, Road Train, Dangerous Goods, and Passenger Vehicle accreditation.

  • Bring the relevant Transport SA forms to your appointment.
  • Let us know which type of driving medical you need so we can book appropriately.
Q-Fever Vaccinations

Q Fever Vaccination
Q Fever is an infection caused by the bacterium Coxiella burnetii, usually linked to contact with animals such as cattle, sheep, or goats. Other animals, including cats, dogs, and kangaroos, may also carry the infection.

Our clinic offers Q Fever vaccine clinics, usually held once a year. You will be added to a waitlist until clinic dates are confirmed.

Vaccination Process:

  1. First visit: Skin test and blood sample.
  2. Second visit (7 days later): Vaccination is given if results are suitable.

Our Q Fever qualified doctors— Dr Rowena Conway, Dr Kari Sims & Dr Michael MacPherson—can assess your eligibility, explain the vaccine, and administer it safely.

Health Assessments

We offer Medicare-funded health checks to help keep you healthy and catch issues early:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Health Check
Early detection of health risks, including blood pressure, blood tests, immunisations, and lifestyle advice.
  • 75+ Health Assessment
Reviews your overall health, mobility, memory, medications, and support needs to help you stay independent.
  • 45–49 Year Old Health Check
Preventive check for chronic disease risks, including blood pressure, blood tests, lifestyle advice, and recommended screenings.

Skin Cancer Checks

How the Service Works

  1. Consultation with GP
    • Your doctor will conduct a full skin examination, assessing any moles, spots, or lesions of concern.
    • Personal and family history, as well as risk factors, are reviewed as part of your assessment.
  1. Excision or Referral

    • If a lesion requires removal, the GP will arrange an appointment in one of our regular skin excision clinics run at our local hospital.
    • Alternatively, the GP can refer you to a trusted specialist for removal.
    • All results and follow-up care are coordinated through your GP for continuity.
GP Chronic Condition Management Plans (GPCCMP)

How the Service Works

  1. Nurse Assessment

    • Patients first see a practice nurse who collects observations, measurements, and other relevant health data.
    • This includes vital signs, weight, blood pressure, blood sugar readings, and other baseline information.
  1. GP Review & Plan Sign-Off

    • After data collection, you will see your GP.
    • The GP reviews the information, discusses your health goals, and prepares your GPCCMP.
    • Referrals to allied health providers or specialists are arranged if needed.
    • The plan is formally signed off by the GP, ensuring coordinated, personalised care.

How to Access

If you have a chronic medical condition likely to last six months or more:

    • Book a GPCCMP appointment – please let admin know what you are booking for.
    • You can only have one new GPCCMP every 12mths unless there has been a significant change in your condition and reviews must be 3mths and 1 day apart.
