Dr Niall Fostyk studied at the University of Glasgow, UK studying a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (2016). He is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has achieved the qualification of Rural Generalist with additional rural skills in palliative care and small town rural general practice.
He has also undertaken extra qualifications in paediatrics (Sydney Child Health Program), palliative care (Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine), skin cancer diagnosis/ treatment (Certificate of Practical Dermoscopy) and women’s health (Certificate of Women’s Health).
Dr Fostyk previously worked in Scotland for 2 years before moving to Australia in 2018 where he worked at both Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Hospital for 3 years. Dr Fostyk then worked in palliative care at Lyell McEwin Hospital and Modbury Hospital to gain extra experience in this field and complete his clinical diploma.
Dr Fostyk has been working at Goyder’s Line Medical since 2022.
Outside of work Dr Fostyk enjoys sports and exercise. He had never played footy before but has given it a go since moving to Jamestown! He also enjoys playing basketball.
